or decision flows (electronic performance support) provide
an innovation in content design in which a knowledge-worker
may be guided step-by-step to perform a certain knowledge-intensive
task. Examples of knowledge intensive tasks include
equipment repair, maintenance, installation, medical
procedures, or customer service protocols.
Procedures are presented in chunk by chunk within
a decision flow and may be referenced electronically
on a Web or mobile (such as hand-held computer or
SmartPhone) form factor. Each procedure step may be
linked to reference information including schematics,
data-lists, data-forms, check-lists, product/parts
catalog, etc.
