and engagement quality of eLearning programs. Furthermore,
online assessments provide mechanisms to evaluate the success
of learning programs. They help determine whether the learner
can exhibit desirable level of knowledge and skill.
Online assessments may be included as part of an
eLearning
course as practice activities and quizzes or they may
be offered as stand-alone units of content or certification
programs. Student assessment may be tracked and scores
are recorded in a Learning Management System/Database
as per the eLearning standards such as SCORM (Sharable
Content Object Reference Model) and IMS (Instructional
Management System).
