As a large multinational company, Hunter Douglas needed a simple and integrated channel partner portal and content management system for product marketing communication, documentation and training for channel partners world wide
As a premiere provider of window fashions, window treatments and coverings, including shadings, sheers, louvers, shades, blinds and shutters, Hunter Douglas was looking for a platform to personalize product knowledge content to channel partners and dealers worldwide while integrating with existing channel partner web sites
   
Solution
 
After evaluating products from a number of vendors, Hunter Douglas selected Instancy and its product Instancy On-Demand Knowledge Portal and Instancy Content Management System - based on their need for integrated communication needs and low cost solution requirements
Instancy's content management system and content delivery portal enabled Hunter Douglas to create, manage, meta-tag and re-purpose the product knowledge content on demand
Instancy Content Management System allowed Hunter Douglas product marketing and training experts to develop multimedia rich and eLearning standards compliant content and also allowed bringing in 3rd party content related to generic sales, soft skills and IT training.
Instancy on-demand knowledge portal delivers personalized content to dealers based on the dealer type i.e. Gallery, Showcase, Showroom and At-home. The implementation also included integration with 3rd party application for user authentication and personalization.
 
Results
 
With Instancy, Hunter Douglas standardized its channel partner communication and product training programs in a single portal interface where channel partner around the world can access critical product information
Hunter Douglas can make changes to the content in real-time to match business and product time lines
The company can track and evaluate the user of its product marketing and training knowledge resources so they can optimize their efforts and future enhancements
Future efforts will focus on integrating multi-languages, collaboration and online feedback and community development into the channel partner portals
